Planned Giving is a way for individuals to make larger gifts than they would be able to make out of their current income or cash assets. These larger gifts are also a way to leave a legacy and make a bigger impact on our Battle Creek Area Catholic Schools.

Give Now
The BCACS Foundation can accept direct stock transfers and IRA distributions. These direct transfers may provide tax savings by minimizing capital gains tax as well as provide a charitable tax deduction for you.
Give Later
Designating the BCACS Foundation as beneficiary of your estate or a life insurance policy is a way you can give a sizable gift upon your passing. This way you can make sure you have enough to live on while you are here. This is typically donated to to the Foundation upon your passing after your financial obligations have been fulfilled.
Give Now, Receive Later
Setting up a Charitable Gift Annuity (CGA) with the Foundation, may give you a tax benefit with minimal capital gains tax by transferring stock to the Foundation. An agreement is set-up with the Foundation that pays you a semi-annual distribution until your passing.

This distribution is based on your gift amount, your age, and a calculated CGA rate. Upon your passing, the Foundation can use the remainder of your gift as necessary for BCACS or according to a pre-arranged agreement.

Memorial Gifts
If you’d like your family to designate your memorial gifts to benefit St. Philip or St. Joseph Schools in lieu of flowers, have them indicate in the obituary that gifts should be make out to BCACS Foundation at 63 North 24th Street, Battle Creek, MI 49015. If you would like the gift to benefit a particular school or program, just have them indicate that on the memo line of the check or in the “other” blank on the memorial envelope. Most funeral homes have our donation envelopes.

Recent gifts given in memory of our loved ones and in honor of our friends and mentors.
