“New Year; New me,” except this isn’t the case for our basketball teams this holiday.

All of our High school teams had a game during winter break, as they participated in the 50th Annual Chuck Turner Classic at the Battle Creek Central Fieldhouse. Since there was only one game, we will have stats for that individual game. Next week, the BCACS Basketball Roundup will return to overall averages.

Our varsity boys fell to Union City with a score of 47-54. Although it got away from our boys, it was a very competitive match that was fun to watch. Top players were Conner Gausselin with 18 points and Hunter Finnila dishing in nine points.

Below are the overall individual stats for this game.

Varsity Girls fell short against Union City with a score of 26-51. Our girls couldn’t buy a bucket in this match. On a positive note, they worked hard all four quarters, as did the JV players who were able to attend. Not only was this the first official Varsity game for those JV players, but they all played in the last quarter.

Below are the overall individual stats for this game.

Our JV boys fell short against Union City as well, with a score of 22-57. Despite a hard-fought game by both offense and defense, they just couldn’t pull it out. The top players of this game were Chris Adam and Jack Austin, each dishing in six points.
